He previously served as medical director of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s outpatient addiction treatment center in Chicago, after a psychiatry residency at the University of Florida and an addiction psychiatry fellowship at Northwestern University.

With a background in biomedical engineering, he also brings an engineer’s perspective to cases that involve technology in mental health care — telehealth, digital tools, and artificial intelligence in psychiatry.
